Each handmade Forest Collection mug is lovingly wheel thrown from light brown clay in Kalamazoo, Michigan in small batches. We sandcarve through the glaze layer of each mug in our Portland, Oregon studio.
Rain is a very difficult color to photograph: it's pale grayish green, leaning toward blue. Moss is a speckled olive green color, with flecks of lighter yellow green and an undertone of blue-black which especially shows through at the bottom edge. This Black is a slightly lighter charcoal color than from other collections.
The beauty of these pieces are in their large handles, smooth shapes, and earthy colors. The glazes have a soft satin finish, which feels soothing to the touch. Each mug is unique, and will have visible signs of being handmade such as small bumps or drips, and other features which we don't consider to be flaws. The deeply engraved areas have crisp edges, and show off the bare clay beneath. Bases have been sanded smooth to sit soothingly in your hands.
All our mugs are made of glazed ceramic, making them dishwasher-safe and microwave-safe. Packed securely in white gift boxes.
