At Altar, we proudly feature one of the largest and most versatile assortments of apothecary lines that can be found in Portland. Culling from companies all over North America, we look for quality products that employ the highest grade ingredients made in small, loving batches. From perfumes to bar soaps, lotions, intention oils, skin care, and everything in between: we are always excited to bring in new companies in the apothecary category because, at this point, nearly every staff member at Altar has become a bit of an afficianado.
It is all the more exciting when we find a new line from made within our city limits, such as our newest addition, Kore Herbal Alchemy. This company has swept us off our feet with a beautiful array of products that have a range of uses. We will be carrying a mix of their current offerings, and would love to share a bit about each product with you!
ANOINT: This is the stuff. It goes on everything. Anoint is an herbal moisturizing face “wand” that can be used for moisturizer after cleansing, under eye cream, lip balm, topical ointment on cuts and burns, scalp soothing and split ends sealer. The ingredients include Organic Almond Oil Infusion of Organic Lavender Flower, Yarrow Flower and Leaf, Dandelion, local Beeswax, Vitamin E Extract, Essential Oils. 98% organic, locally sourced ingredients.
RUNE: Rune Facial Scrub is a facial exfoliant handmade with activated charcoal and Alaskan glacial silt, which can only be accessed during certain times of the year because there is literally a glacier sitting on top of it when it’s cold. Glacial silt is high in minerals while activated charcoal cleanses and detoxifies. Plant-based glycerin leaves exfoliated skin soft and hydrated.
REMEDY: Remedy is a floral + pearl facial mask to nourish your complexion with vitamin rich florals and rose clay combined with crushed pearl powder, an ancient remedy used to brighten and tone skin. This mask is very healing for acne, oil-prone or skin in need of a detox for all skin types and is safe for sensitive skin.
AURIC: Auric is a skin mist, toner, flower essence spray, hair mist, and hydrosol. Frankincense and rose have been revered as sacred plants for their protective and magical properties for centuries. Infused with healing quartz crystals and wild rose flower essences, this mist was created to center, awaken and renew the skin and spirit.
