The Lemon sorrel print is a collaboration with Phoebe Wahl and Field Day designer Trinity Cross. Phoebe Wahl is an artist, activist, & one of our very favorite illustrators. Phoebe's art talks about important issues the world is facing, including racism, immigration, sexism, and fat phobia (just to name a few).
The illustration is of Wood Sorrel Oxalis acetosella, an edible wild plant that's taste resembles the sourness of a lemon. They are incredibly refreshing and thirst-quenching. Wood Sorrel is high in vitamin C and A, and is said helps with fever reduction, increased appetite, and reducing inflammation when applied topically. Wood Sorrel also acts as ground cover, protecting our soil. Wood Sorrel grows wild among most of North America and can be commonly found in cities but is usually classified as a weed, despite its taste and medicinal properties.
